Position Overview:
Embark on an exciting journey as we seek a Senior Bookkeeper/Accountant to fortify our team. This full-time role entails overseeing a spectrum of financial responsibilities, vital to the triumphant execution of our projects.
Tasks
Responsibilities:
- Efficiently manage sales invoicing, purchase invoices, credit control, expenses, and subcontractor payments.
- Meticulously process subcontractor timesheets to ensure accuracy in payments.
- Conduct weekly bank reconciliation while adeptly handling VAT and CIS returns.
- Assist in the meticulous management of accounts, encompassing accruals and journals.
- Deliver regular account progress reports to the operations director, ensuring transparency and alignment.
- Proactively identify and mitigate financial losses while adeptly managing HMRC matters.
- Prepare insightful weekly forecasting, budgeting, and cost control plan reports.
- Cultivate seamless communication channels with clients, Quantity Surveyors, Office Managers, and Project Managers.
- Ensure project milestones are achieved, maintaining meticulous paperwork.
- Generate comprehensive status/progress reports for clients and the operations director, fostering transparency.
- Lead efficient accounts meetings, providing updates to the risk log.
- Promptly apprise the operations director of key milestones, facilitating informed decision-making.
- Drive efficiency enhancements while upholding a professional office demeanor.
- Seamlessly manage Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, and Banking tasks.
- Assist in VAT returns, CIS returns, and management accounts, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Contribute to budgeting and cash flow forecasting endeavors, leveraging financial acumen.
- Undertake various finance and administrative duties, showcasing versatility and adaptability.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in the construction industry, lending valuable insight into sector-specific dynamics.
- Excellent communication skills across diverse organizational levels, fostering collaboration.
- Proficiency in organization and Excel, essential for meticulous financial management.
- Familiarity with CIS, VAT, QuickBooks Online, and Money Soft, ensuring adept navigation of financial platforms.
- Strong background in accounting and bookkeeping, underpinning financial integrity.
- Skilled in Microsoft Excel, harnessing data analytics for informed decision-making.
- Familiarity with Xero and QuickBooks, enriching proficiency in financial management platforms.
- Valid work authorization within the United Kingdom, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
